Yurik has painted many portraits over the years. ranging from quick drawing studies that take 30 minutes, to full scale Oil Paintings taking dozens of hours.

The most common commission is the "3 hour sitting" portrait. For these, the person to be painted sits for 3 hours(with breaks) as the painting is done live. After that, the painting is taken back to the studio, touched up and adjusted for a few more hours, and completed. The finished piece is a beautiful blend of both careful rendering and the freshness of spontaineous brushwork
